I absolutely love foaming hand soap. Does anyone else do? After buying over priced foaming hand soap for many years and I now have a 3 year old who loves water and has every manner of excuses to wash his hands. What I did not know then is the soap in those fancy bottles is mostly water.
Here is how I have been saving money and going green by making my own homemade foaming hand soap.
2 cups water
3 Tbsp Desert Essence Castile Liquid Soap
2 Tsp Bakels Vegetable Glycerine
Foaming Hand Soap Dispenser
What to do:
1) Fill the foaming hand soap dispenser with water
Here am re-using an old soap pump (from a foaming hand soap bought from Nakumatt a while back). Fill the soap pump with water first, my soap pump fits 2 cups of water, you will need to adjust measurements based on your pump size. Leave some space for the soap, glycerine and the pump cover.
2. Add the Castile Liquid Soap
Add soap depending on how soapy you would want it to feel. I love Desert Essence Castile Liquid Soap because it is made of natural ingredients. You can find it at Healthy U. It has Tea Tree.
3. Add Vegetable Glycerine or Vitamin E, or Oil
You need to add one of these moisturizing ingredients so that your soap won’t be drying. Should you opt to use vitamin E capsules , open one or two capsules and add it to the soap. You may opt to add some oil instead a good example is sweet almond oil or Olive Oil though I have not tried with olive oil yet. My favourite is vegetable glycerine which I have used here. Vegetable glycerine is a carbohydrate that is naturally derived from vegetables and attracts moisture to your skin.
Kwaheri overpriced hand soaps!
Have you made your own hand soap before? How did you do it?
