#1. Do-It-Yourself shoe polish:
Add a few drops of lemon juice to olive oil. Apply to shoes then buff with a clean rag for a perfect shine.
#2. Refresh cutting boards, rolling pins:
To get odors out of wooden rolling pins, bowls, or cutting boards, rub with a piece of lemon. Don’t rinse: The wood will absorb the lemon juice.
#3. Deodorize your dustbin:
If your bin is beginning to smell nasty, here’s an easy way to deodorize it: Save leftover lemon and orange peels and toss them at the base under the bag. To keep it smelling fresh, repeat once every couple of weeks.
#4. Remove stains from fabric:
Dab salt and lemon juice onto the stain, leave for a while, then rinse well and wash as normal.
#5. Insects deterrent:
Squeeze lemon juice around windows and doors to keep insects out. Place some sliced lemon (or the juiced lemons) around the kitchen to keep insects away.
